R&D Programs

The D2D CRC brought together researchers and industry to tackle big data challenges facing Australia's national security agencies, and to help build a sustainable big data workforce for Australia.

D2D CRC focused its research and development activities on four major national security and big data programs: Apostle, Beat the News, Integrated Law Enforcement and Law & Policy. Much of the R&D outputs of these programs are being commercialised by the two D2D CRC spinout companies, Fivecast and NQRY.

To help support a sustainable big data workforce, D2C CRC developed an Australian-first Data Science Competency Framework, in close collaboration with industry and CRC participants.

D2D CRC also helped local businesses understand how to use and maximise their big data through the Innovation Exchange Program, which worked with small to medium enterprises in industries like health and manufacturing.
